The government of the People's Republic of China has taken important measures to develop and promote metrology in China. In order to have legal control over internally manufactured and imported measuring instruments, current policies effective since August 2006 under the Law on Metrology, specify that all working measuring instruments used in trade, medical treatment and health, safety protection, and environmental monitoring are subject to compulsory verification. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China has the responsibility of verifying and approving equipment used for calibration and measurement purposes in China and is responsible for issuing "pattern approval".

In compliance with Chinese laws and regulations on metrology, Lloyd Instruments Plus Series materials testing machines have been inspected by one of the Department of Metrology's accredited laboratories.
